SPECIAL MEETING WITH THE TOWN OF UNDERHILL - TUESDAY, JANUARY 24TH
The Town of Underhill is holding a special meeting tomorrow (Tues, January 24th) at 5:00 PM at the Underhill Town Hall to discuss whether or not they will endorse an aquatic invasive species grant for Berry Lake this spring.  As we don't have an Aquatic Plant Management Plan in place yet, it is doubtful that the BLPOA would have anything approved through the WDNR at this time without the support of the Town.

BLPOA president Jim DePrey has been working with Brian Ewart on a joint effort to accomplish this, which also includes finishing up all loose ends from the previous grants which went through the Town of Underhill.  The deadline to submit WNDR grants for invasive species control in February 1st, so we don't have much time.

Meeting update - January 24, 2012:  The Town of Underhill agreed to endorse a new grant application (for aquatic invasive species control) for Berry Lake.  Brian Ewart is now to write up the grant application on behalf of Berry Lake, and it needs to be submitted by February 1st. 

The Town reported that there is appx. $2480.00 left in the previous Berry Lake grants through the Town.  The Town is still waiting for all inkind volunteer hours to be submitted, and they became aware of a bill pending for the chemical applicators who have not yet been paid since the application early last summer.  The Town wants this grant closed out as soon as possible and will include this on their February board meeting agenda.

_IT'S OFFICIAL...WE'RE NOW A "QUALIFIED LAKE ASSOCIATION"!
The BLPOA has received confirmation from the DNR that they have approved our application to be a Qualified Lake Association!  This means that the BLPOA has the option to apply for lake planning and protection grants as well as aquatic invasive species grants under Wisconsin's Lake Planning and Protection Grant Program and Aquatic Invasive Species Control Grant Program.
